Ipswich Museum 54 South Main Street, Ipswich, MA, United States“The Rising of the Women: New England Mill Strikes and the Pursuit of Women’s Rights, 1820-1920.” Cassandra Pelletier, Director of the Susan B. Anthony Museum will present an overview of women’s mill strikes in the US from the 1820s at the time mills were staffed by women to 1920. The passage of the 19th amendment increased women’s political influence allowing them to explain their working and living conditions through demonstrations and the outcomes and actual results of their protests.
