“The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Story” with George Gray. The Ipswich Public Library has owned a seismograph since 2012 which reports earthquakes both locally and around the world. Gray will talk about this particular earthquake which was the biggest and worst in US History.

Wednesday Evening Lecture

“The Rising of the Women: New England Mill Strikes and the Pursuit of Women’s Rights, 1820-1920.” Cassandra Pelletier, Director of the Susan B. Anthony Museum will present an overview of women’s mill strikes in the US from the 1820s at the time mills were staffed by women to 1920. The passage of the 19th amendment increased women’s political influence allowing them to explain their working and living conditions through demonstrations and the outcomes and actual results of their protests.
