Hawkins \nDate: Saturday\, November 12\, 2022 \nTime: 9am-3pm (break 12-1pm) \nCost: $110 Members / $125 non-Members (includes all materials\, see list below) \n  \nWorkshop Description: Landscape\, Color & Abstraction explores color\, mark and abstraction through the lens of landscape painting. This workshop will briefly look at the traditional elements and principles of landscape painting\, and use these tools to inform and create a compelling abstract work of art. This workshop is designed to provide the structure necessary to enter an abstract painting language with intention and ease\, while still providing space for freedom and intuition. Landscape\, Color & Abstraction is designed to help the artist better understand composition\, value\, color\, and most importantly\, how to become a looser and more expressive painter. \nWhat to expect: The morning will be spent exploring a few sequential exercises and the afternoon will be an open studio format. Amanda will demonstrate all exercises before artists embark on their own work. Hawkins is an award winning painter living and working in Beverly\, MA. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montserrat College of Art in 2014 and Masters in Fine Arts in Painting at Boston University in 2021. She is on the Board of Trustees at Rocky Neck Art Colony and shows her work in gallery shows across New England. Amanda teaches painting workshops across North America\, including in British Columbia and Arizona\, in addition to virtual workshops which have an international draw. Her work can be found in private art collections across the globe. Amanda maintains an active studio blog and shares her creative practice with over 25K people worldwide.
